Transcript:
Official transcripts of all university-level work must be uploaded as part of the online application. Successful applicants will be required to provide an official copy of all transcripts prior to being officially admitted. For more information on transcript requirements for both Canadian and international credentials, please refer to the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website.
Curriculum Vitae:
All applicants must provide an up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) or resume detailing academic and work history, and noting any additional relevant experiences such as courses, presentations, publication and volunteer work.
Personal Statement:
As part of the online application, all applicants must provide a 1-2 pages detailed statement of their interests and objectives in graduate studies in psychology. This statement is an important factor in determining admissibility. Another important factor in judging admissibility is the extent to which an applicant’s research and professional interests are congruent with those of members of the Department. Because we follow an apprenticeship model of graduate training, applicants must identify one or more faculty members who could act as potential research supervisors.
Recommendation Letter:
All applicants must receive favourable evaluations from three previous instructors or research supervisors. Students should choose referees who are most familiar with their abilities and research experience and who are able to comment on their ability to undertake graduate studies. Important: Applicants should provide an institutional email address for referees if possible. Referees with non-institutional email addresses (such as gmail or hotmail) will not be able to complete the reference online and will instead receive a paper reference form that must be submitted via mail in time to meet the December 15 deadline. For more tips on reference letters visit the Letters of Reference page.
Writing Sample:
You may choose to provide one example of your scholarly writing, such as a term paper or a substantial scholarly paper. Please note this is optional and not a required component of the application.
