Send transcripts to:
Statistics M.S. Admissions
Department of Statistics, Sequoia Hall
390 Serra Mall, room 127
Stanford University
Stanford, CA 94305
We recommend that applicants send their transcripts to the department within 7 days of SUBMITTING their application. (Transcripts cannot be reconciled with your application until it is SUBMITTED.)
Official transcripts must be sent to the department using an approved electronic method or by mailing hard copies. If possible, applicants are encouraged to use one of the electronic methods, as these options are eco-friendly and provide the same level of authenticity as official paper transcripts. (e-Transcripts preferred!)
Do not send materials via a service which requires a signature (such as USPS: Registered or Return Receipt); we cannot accommodate such items. Do not send any materials to Graduate Admissions in the Registrar's office.
Curriculum Vitae:
Resume/CV (optional)
Personal Statement:
Your statement should be typed, single-spaced, and no longer than two pages with a one inch margin at the top of each page, ensuring that your full name and the program to which you are applying is on each page.
Explain the nature of your interest in one specific program in the department and reasons for wanting to study at Stanford. Include details about your preparation for this field of study, your future career plans, and any other aspects of your background and interests that may aid the admissions committee in evaluating your aptitude and motivation for graduate study.
Recommendation Letter:
The Statistics department requires three (3) recommendation letters to be uploaded by the letter writers themselves (or authorized representatives). Applicants should ask for recommendation letters as early as possible. At least one writer should be an instructor or academic adviser from a current/previous institution.
We also advise that you ask for one more recommender than is required, in case one of them is unable to provide a letter for you by the deadline.
